Privacy Policy

This is an English translation of our Datenschutzerklärung. If the two versions differ, the German version applies.

1. Who is responsible

2. In short

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking services and embeds no content from other providers. Fonts and images are loaded from our own server. We only process personal data to deliver the website and to answer your messages.

3. Hosting and access data

This website is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes the connection data that is technically required: your IP address, the date and time, the page you requested, your browser identifier (user agent) and, where applicable, the page you came from. The purpose is to deliver the website and to protect it against attacks and abuse.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is a secure website that works. Cloudflare acts as our processor (Art. 28 GDPR). We do not keep any access logs ourselves.

Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). In addition, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in Cloudflare's data processing agreement apply (Art. 46 GDPR).

4. Contact form and email

When you write to us through the contact form or by email, we process your email address, optionally your name, the topic you chose and your message, in order to answer your request. The form only asks for what we need to reply.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract or aims at concluding one, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in answering requests).

The transmission is encrypted. The form is forwarded through Cloudflare (see section 3) as an email to our mailbox and is not stored anywhere else along the way. Our mailbox is operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA in the process. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

We delete your request once it has been dealt with, and at the latest six months after the last message, unless we are legally required to keep it (for example six years for business correspondence under § 257 of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and § 147 of the German Fiscal Code (AO)). We do not pass your data on to third parties and do not use it for advertising.

You are not obliged to give us any data. Without an email address, however, we cannot reply to you.

We are present on Instagram (@donwitziggamestudio) and run our own server on Discord. When you use them, the platforms process your data under their own privacy terms. We only see what you share with us or publicly there, such as your username, comments and messages. The legal basis for our communication there is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in staying in touch with interested people and our community).

Instagram

The provider is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Serpentine Avenue, Block J, Dublin 4, Ireland. Meta gives us aggregated statistics about our profile (Insights), such as reach and interactions. We cannot identify individual people from them. For the processing behind these statistics, we and Meta are joint controllers (Art. 26 GDPR). Meta may also transfer data to the USA and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The quickest way to exercise your rights is directly with Meta, because only Meta has access to the user data. You can also contact us, and we will pass your request on. More in Meta's Privacy Policy, which also applies to Instagram.

Discord

For users in the European Economic Area, the provider is Discord Netherlands BV, Schiphol Boulevard 195, 1118 BG Schiphol, the Netherlands. On our server, we and the other members can see your username, your profile picture and your messages. Discord may also transfer data to the USA. You can leave the server at any time and delete your own messages. More in Discord's Privacy Policy.

6. Links to other websites

Links to kronenfall.com, to our Discord server and to our Instagram profile lead to other websites. These services only load once you click such a link. From then on, the privacy policy of that provider applies.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

access the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR)
have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR)
restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)

Right to object: where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you can object to it at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

An informal message to the address above is enough. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg), Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.

8. No automated decisions

We make no automated decisions and do no profiling under Art. 22 GDPR.
